Here's some pictures and info about all the animals that I currently "own". I don't like to call them my pets, because I honestly can't imagine life without them, I think I need them more than they need me!
Dixie is my chihuahua. She is considered a "teacup" because she is so small. She will be 2 in December, and weighs no more than 3 pounds. Dixie is by far the most amazing dog on earth, well, she isn't even a dog, she's more like my baby, I take her everywhere, and without even thinking about it plan my life with her in it, I could never leave her out. If someone doesn't like my dog, they don't like me.I don't get to by new purses, but I do get to buy new stylish dog bags from time to time, and when I get new clothes, so does she. I've even made peace with the fact that she will never be 100% potty trained, well she's not even 50% potty trained, but we try. She goes to the movies with us, out to dinner, to the rodeo, EVERYWHERE, and it's completely legal because she's a service dog(I have social anxiety). She has only been left home 2 times(with grandma the babysitter) and I cried both times... and I guess she cries too. I think she knows how much I love her, because even with all my other animals she never feels the least bit jealous, it's like she knows that they could never take her place.
Rosie is my almost 2 year old Quarter Horse. She is a red roan, which is cool, because in the summer she's mostly all red, and in the winter she's almost completely white. I've had Rosie since she was 6 months old. I just started riding Rosie, and I'm hoping that soon we'll be able to compete in Western Pleasure. Western pleasure is like, my biggest passion in life. When she slows down and jogs, it's the prettiest thing you could ever imagine, she moves so naturally with this naturally low headset, it looks so perfect. I just hope her conformation will get her as far as her personality will. She's so gorgeous, even if she can't be used for WP she will definitely succeed in English pleasure or reining.
Ellie is a white-face cinnamon, female cockatiel. She is LOADED with personality. There is NO way she is going to stand you giving attention to another bird if you don't pet her first. She will fly across the room, crawl up on your bed, and make her way below your chin, and will make the funniest noises, with her mouth wide open, until you pet her. Then while you pet her, she makes more noises, and if you stop petting her, even more noises. I'm almost positive she is a girl, because of her face, a male would be completely white-faced, but she has more grey underneath. She tries hard to mimic my whistling, but has yet to do it, even though I love my other cockatiels so much, Ellie is the one that connects with me the most, or with anyone really :) She's definitely not picky about who gives her attention, as long as she gets it.
Cody is a white-face pearl, female cockatiel. Again, I think she's a female because she has more of a colored grey face, than a totally white-face. She is another VERY SWEET GIRLY. She isn't like Ellie because she isn't in constant need of attention, but she lets everyone know when she wants to be petted. Anytime she sees another bird being petted, she'll either continue what she's doing, or walk over and put her head down, if you don't pet her then, she looks so sad, so no matter what, you feel like you HAVE to pet her. She'll fly across the room and crawl up the dog pen and sit there until you decide to pick you up. She's perfectly content on your shoulder, but also loves being scratched. She loves loves loves baths, and tries so hard to roll over in the water, but her wings get in the way.
Quey is my third cockatiel, I am not completely sure if she is a boy or girl because of her color. She is an "albino" or white-face lutino. She was my sisters bird before, and my sister didn't give her as much attention, so she's more shy than my other cockatiels, but she's getting there.. she has finally learned that stepping up means out of cage time, and will actually come over and ask to get her neck scratched. Because of her mutation, she has to sleep with the night light, and if she ever flies she often flies straight into walls that are all white. Quey is the bird I plan on breeding, first because of her color, and because she is older, and even though more shy she is very sweet and I just have a feeling she will be so great to have babies. So I'm currently on the search for a nice mate for her.
Kit is the newest addition to my birdy family. I've been told she's a creamino mutation, but I know NOTHING about lovebird mutations.. She is completely comfortable being held in your hand, but we are currently working on "stSep up" She's VERY smart, and if you say "TWEET" she tweets back, and if you say "TWEET TWEET TWEET" She copies the same amount of times. She's definitely more... bossy.. than my cockatiels, and is the boss, even though it's rightfully their territory, but as long as theres no fighting, I'm okay with it. She's still pretty nervous when someone comes up to her cage, but if you are quiet and patient she'll fly right over and land on your head. She loves to ride around on your shoulder, and enjoys getting in the bird bath. She has a bed in her cage to sleep in, but instead sleeps on top of it :), but we're working on that.
Peanut and Speedy are my two mice, I've had them for a while now, but I'm currently trying to find them a new home =/ They are in their cage so much I feel so bad =/. They are very sweet, anyone that comes over holds them and they crawl all over. They love being held, and running on their wheel! Dakota (chin in picture) is OBSESSED with them, they totally don't mind him holding them either, I just need to help him get them out because they are so fast. I wish they had someone who would let them run around in a little mousy ball, or get them a bigger funner cage.
Suzie is the newest, non birdy, member added to my family. She's a multi colored abyssinian guinea pig, or cavy to those who show and breed them. She is SO sweet, the last guinea pig I bought came from a pet store and did NOT let you hold it. She loves being held! I even scrambled together and made her a huge C&C(Cubes and coroplast) cage so she could be as happy as possible.. and in a few weeks, she'll have a friend :) I can't wait till she gets all big and stuff :) PICTURE COMING SOON!
